Social anxiety disorder can begin as far back as childhood or teenage years but left to it’s own devices it can become an uncontrollable monster by the time a person reaches adulthood. It can take over your life and rob you of everything until it becomes an ordeal for you to just get through the day and to be able to undertake tasks that most people would take for granted.

But you do not have to live with this condition. It responds very well to treatment and experts agree that a full recovery is possible with effort and determination on your part and the help of a trained therapist. They will understand social anxiety completely and know how this condition affects you and they will normally treat their patients in a social anxiety therapy group. Modern techniques and methods of treatment they use will help to change your thought patterns and beliefs.

There are also ways you can reduce your stress and this will help to lower your anxiety levels. Learning breathing techniques is a good way of keeping calm and relaxed. When you feel stressed and panicky start to take deep breaths nice and slowly in and out. Relaxation is another sure way to bring calm to the mind and body. Yoga and meditation are good ways to relax and there is a good selection of books and videos available on the high street which can show you some basic exercises.

A regular exercise program and a healthy diet will help with your general health and care should be taken to avoid things that are known to be triggers for anxiety. These are such things as tobacco and drugs, alcohol, caffeine. If you are looking for a cure for your social anxiety try these tips. Many people have found them very useful and have made a full recovery.

If you are searching for help to cure panic attacks you may not be aware that this condition responds very well to treatment and most people are able to make a full recovery. You may have felt at times that you would never find a way to be free of anxiety and stress but the good news is that with effort and determination on your part you can also find a permanent cure.

Rather than focus on what you should do it may be a good idea to take note of the following 3 things you should not be doing.

1) When you are feeling low and anxious don’t be tempted to just sit in front of the television and eat junk food. This will just make you feel lethargic and will only add to the stress and anxiety you are already feeling.

2) Don’t underestimate the benefits of exercise and physical activity. Even the most simple exercise such as walking will relieve you of some of your nervous energy, bringing a sense of calm to your mind and help you to sleep better. Many doctors are now beginning to consider exercise as a treatment to reduce the stress that leads to anxiety and panic attacks.

3) Don’t procrastinate. This is such a bad habit and one that causes your mind a great deal of stress. Although you may think that by putting a task off for the time being you can forget about it, your mind cant forget so it’s always there niggling away in your head causing worry and stress. Unfortunately there will always be things we would rather not have to deal with. That’s how life is, but dealing with the task brings a feeling of satisfaction and sets the mind at rest.

Why not try these tips? Many people have used already them to find help to cure panic attacks.

For someone who is trying to break free from social anxiety it may seem that finding a way out of this condition will be an impossible task. But like most of the other anxiety disorders it responds well to treatment.

In fact experts are convinced everyone can overcome this condition, some with self help techniques which they can use at home, and others perhaps in more severe cases may find the help they need through counselling.

Social anxiety is often mistaken for shyness, but anybody who actually suffers from this complaint will know that shy doesn’t even come close to describing it. It just completely robs you of your life, leaving you lonely and often isolated. But once you begin the therapy you could be amazed at how quickly you will make small steps of progress and will no doubt wish you had started long before now.

You can learn how to feel comfortable in public, as well as feeling calm and in control. Just start by going to a public place and looking around you and concentrate on what is going on, see who is doing what. You will probably notice that no one is looking at you. No one is judging you and you don’t need to feel embarrassed or self conscious. There is no reason to feel tense or worried. With practice you will find you do things like this automatically.

I’ve borrowed some phrases from a man called Tom who attends therapy in San Diego. He uses them in times of stress and although they are quite simple I have found them very useful to repeat to myself if I feel anxious.

I am going to be alright.
My feelings are not always rational.
I just need to relax and calm down.
Everything is going to be ok.

So if life is passing you by make a commitment today to cure your social anxiety. It is possible. There is lots of help available to you. You can use therapy or self help programs.

If you have been unsuccessful in finding a cure for panic attacks you may have overlooked one simple thing.

That is the fact that for your mind and body to function well they need good nutrition. In fact they just need to be cared for and looked after the best way you possibly can. Experts are constantly telling us that to maintain good physical and mental health we need to eat a balanced diet.

The foods we consume can effect our moods. Ready to eat junk foods contain all kinds of additives and preservatives. A diet of fast food can lead to high blood pressure and will make you feel lethargic.

The Department of Nutrition at Harvard School of Public Health has produced a list of 8 tips for keeping the body well and in the best health possible.

1) Eat good carbohydrates such as whole grains, oats and breakfast cereals.
2) To be sure you get the best protein choose fish, poultry, nuts and beans.
3) Keep saturated fats to an absolute minimum. Fish and nuts provide healthy fats.
4) Good health can come from a fibre filled diet which is rich in whole grains, fruit and vegetables.
5) Eat a good variety of fruit and vegetables, focusing on those with bright colours.
6) Calcium is important and is an ingredient which can be found in milk, soy milk, and baked beans.
7) Drink alcohol in moderation.
8)Take a daily multi-vitamin and mineral supplement. Take extra vitamin D.

So by putting the best you can into your body means you will get the best out. The benefits of a healthy diet have been scientifically proved. Research shows that means more energy, lower blood pressure and lower cholesterol. You will also find your sleep patterns will improve.

All these things together mean you will feel more relaxed, and will not have the stress and anxiety which you have in the past. This information has proved useful to many people so why not try using it to prevent panic attacks.

If you are struggling to find a way to cure panic attacks, you may be surprised to discover that by just changing some of your habits you can succeed.

Just as habits can be quite easily formed, so with a bit of practise they can just as easily be broken. Bad habits can easily be replaced with good ones.

Some of the changes you need to make may be as simple as swapping a poor diet for a more healthy one. You could also begin to take regular exercise such as jogging, walking, swimming or whatever you feel comfortable doing. It is also good to break bad habits like smoking tobacco or recreational drugs and drinking excessive amounts of alcohol.

But there is one habit that is probably worse than any other and that is chronic worry. Although there is always a certain amount of everyday worry in our lives, it’s not the same as the irrational worry that leads to stress and anxiety and can be the cause of insomnia.

Chronic worry is just a whole string of negative thoughts leading eventually to negative beliefs. The doubts and fears from constant worry will increase your anxiety and so you will find that you over analyse everything and will always think of the worst case scenario.

So if you can break this habit of constant worrying, and you can combine it with the breaking of the other bad habits mentioned earlier, you will see excellent progress begin to happen. This newfound progress will create momentum that will be a sure sign that your quest to cure panic attacks is near an end.

If you suffer with anxiety and panic attacks you may feel that finding a cure that works for you seems like an impossibility. Life can become very lonely when the stress and worry of wondering when you will get the next panic attack makes it difficult for you to join in any social gatherings.

If you are in this situation then therapy could be the answer. There is no stigma attached to anxiety or depression, so asking for help when you feel overwhelmed with life’s problems would seem like the natural thing to do. When your self esteem is low and everything seems negative a councillor is always ready to listen and will never judge you.

Some people like to start off with one-to-one therapy or even join a small group while some prefer to look for help online. Getting things started is the hardest thing you will have to do but it will make you feel good as you are now beginning to take back control of your life. This therapy helps you to find ways of coping with your fears and phobias thus enabling you to change your attitude to life.

As you make progress with your therapy you might feel you would like to go one step further and join a support group. These groups are places where everyone accepts you and understands how you feel so you wont ever need to feel self conscious or feel afraid of being judged. This makes it easy to talk about your feelings and find out how others in your situation are coping. Sometimes it can be very difficult to talk about personal things to the people you know, like your family and friends. So being able to talk to strangers is a great option.

Preventing panic attacks is an almost impossible task but there are some simple things you can do which can help. If you have been diagnosed with anxiety and panic attacks the chances are you have sleep issues. So developing a few new sleeping habits will really help your condition.

Try to get to bed at the same time every night and get up at the same time every morning. Make sure you don’t take any naps during the day. Although this may be a struggle at first you will soon see the benefits as your body gets used to a routine.

Relax and slow down an hour or two before bedtime and make sure you don’t exercise or eat a heavy meal just before you go to bed. A warm bath and a bedtime drink each night will help your body to learn that it is bedtime, but make sure your drink contains no stimulants.

Make your bedroom environment as calm and relaxing as possible. You need this space to be a sanctuary and a comfortable dark, quiet airy room will always help. Make sure no light is coming into your room. You may need to buy a sleeping mask in summer when it gets light really early in the morning.

If you should happen to wake during the night and cant get back to sleep don’t lie in bed for too long as this is the time you could think negative thoughts. Get up and leave the room and do something relaxing such as reading or maybe listening to some soft music, but don’t be tempted to drink any tea or coffee. When you feel tired then go to bed as you did the first time.

Once your body develops a regular sleep pattern you will wake more refreshed and have more energy to face the day ahead.

It is now a well recognised fact that a lot of the people who suffer with anxiety and panic attacks can be helped by something other than prescription drugs. Many people fear they may become addicted to the medication and they also worry about the possibility of there being side effects.

So now more and more people are turning to natural ways to find the cure for their condition. It is widely known that stress and poor diet can contribute to panic disorders. It has been found that many people who suffer with an anxiety disorder have a deficiency in B vitamins (B complex).

It is vital to consume foods containing B vitamins as they are important in enabling the body to create calm and they also provide valuable help towards a healthy nervous system. There is a long list of every day foods which are rich in these vitamins and most of them contain much needed minerals. Below you will see just some of the things that will help to make up a good diet and you should also remember to eat plenty of fruit and vegetables.

Chicken
Liver
Salmon
Tuna
Tofu or other soy products
Eggs
Cheese
Brown and whole grain rice
Pasta
Leafy green vegetables
Broccoli
Marmite and vegemite

Because the body is not able to store vitamin B you need to make sure that your diet contains some of these foods every day. Inadequate intake of essential vitamins and minerals can contribute to a person’s anxiety, so if you find for any reason you are unable to consume the required daily amount the next best thing would be to take a vitamin supplement which can be bought from any health food shop.

If you have suffered panic attacks and anxiety for any length of time you probably know by now that the time has come to take action because this thing just isn’t going to go away by itself. So the onus lies with you to start things moving and you need to make the decision to talk to someone who can help.

Usually the best place to start is with your doctor. The first visit will always seem difficult and the chances are you will feel very emotional and stressed as you explain your problems. But that’s the first and possibly the worst step over.

Your doctor will discuss treatment options with you, and he or she will take into account your personal condition and will then be able to recommend the best course of treatment for you. You can also ask questions about any concerns you may have. Its always a good idea to prepare some questions in advance. This way you won’t forget the things you wanted to ask.

You need long term benefits and not just a temporary fix so it would be a good idea to do some research into some of the ways you can help yourself. There are many simple things you can do, like for instance making some small changes in your diet. This means learning which foods are triggers for anxiety and need to be avoided.

You will also find that learning and practicing breathing techniques and establishing a regular sleeping pattern will be very beneficial. All these things are quite easy to do and can work alongside your treatment, whether that be medication or therapy. So if you have decided you are ready to seek help, now is the time to make the change happen and plan a life which is free from panic.

Searching for a way of curing your panic attacks can sometimes feel like an impossible task. But there are solutions and you don’t need to spend the rest of your life coping with this condition. There is plenty of advice about the things you should do but it is just as important to know that there are certain things you should avoid. So you may find these 5 tips useful.

1 ) Don’t shut yourself away. Sitting in a dark room all day will just make you feel lonely and depressed. Get out of doors and take a walk as often as you can. Exercise is a really good way to relieve stress and after a gentle walk through a peaceful park you may be surprised at how calm your mind will be.

2 ) Try not to eat too much processed food. Most of these are high in fat (especially saturated fat) and high in cholesterol. They also contain a great deal of sugar and salt.
